Comic Money CAN Buy You Happiness!

We're Back
Were back, thankfully. Sorry for the huge two month hiatus, it wasn't our intention. Here's the story:

Heather usually doesn't have many exams, instead, she gets the pleasure of writing giant papers the week before that are worth near half of her final mark, meaning for the last two weeks of school, she has her priorities. Then exam week comes, and the world of mathematics hits me like a truck on a freeway, and I have mine, this year Gordon had the pleasure of having a combination of papers and exams during the same time frame. Based on our schedules we thought it was best to just put the comic aside for a few weeks and focus on school, once exams were over then we would get back to being funny once a week.

So exam time finished, but we had hit another road bump. You see, Heather is spending the summer in Alberta and was periodically sending her things over, and the scanner had its turn during exams. So, our only known scanner was on the other side of the country making us, unfortunately, take an extended leave. Heather has now left us, enjoying herself a couple thousand or so kilometers west of us. Little to no updates as far as Gordon and I are concerned, we work, play WoW, write scripts, and play WoW. Expect regular updates now.

Oh also, Battlestar Galactica is the greatest thing I've experienced since Ocarina of Time.

While we were out...
Welcome back!
Oh, how we've missed you. We've got some plans for the next few weeks and can't wait to get back on track with this journey upon which we will walk hand in hand with you, our faithful readers.

So between then and now, some interesting things have gone down. Firstly, Arthur Moore and the Lone Wolf premiered a couple of weeks ago and received some excellent feedback. In attendance at the Ryerson University Film Festival was none other than the director of 'The History of Violence' and 'Eastern Promises', David Cronenberg. His son, Brendan, also had a film in the festival, and Mr. Cronenburg was simply there to watch his son's flick, which was a fabulous dark comedy and I truly enjoyed it.

Leon and I got back into World of Warcraft in a BIG way. We're playing horde on the Stormscale server; join us, won't you GTA IV was purchased, and is fabulous, but has been entirely overshadowed by the crack cocaine straight to the eyes that is WOW. Also, Heather and I very much enjoyed the first season of Sam and Max, and plan to move on to season two when she returns in September.

I've seen Speed Racer in theatre... twice... and can't recomend it enough. It is certainly a return to form for the Wachowski brothers. Iron Man was a blessed gift from the Comic Book Gods. Jon Favreau should direct every Marvel movie from this point forward, he simply understands the tone of the universe and translates it perfectly to the screen. Indy comes out next week. That is all.

In the world of Comics, Brian Michael Bendis has taken over my world. Powers, New and Mighty Avengers, Ultimate Spiderman, and Secret Invasion are all fucking spectacular, I don't understand how someone could be so talented. Also, Matt Fraction's first issue of Invincible Iron Man was a blast. Favreau, the director of the Iron Man film, also wrote an issue of an Iron Man book, but thus far it is more of a story pitch, though I am excited to see where he takes it. Toronto's Fan Expo is coming towards the end of the summer, and the guest list was recently released. My unhinged jaw and soiled jeans speak to the strength of this list.

I can't think of much else right now, but if I do, you'll be the first to know.

Again, great to have you back!
Yours,
Gordon
